Looking Through The Eyes Of Love, Ateneo Game 1

This video was recorded in the great live concert by Jose Feliciano and the famous Vienna Simphony Orchestra in 1987 in Vienna Danube park in front of 60.000 people.

While I was writing my papers for two classes, heard this song being sung by a choir. I think they were performing/practicing in Eliazo.

Made me remember so many things. Haha. Senti trip.

But mushy things aside, this song is the theme of the movie Ice Castles (this was my mom’s generation’s version of our generation’s Cutting Edge). It was the story of an Iowa farm girl who has a God-given talent for ice skating. With the encouragement and training of the local ice-skating rink operator, she manages to win the first prize trophy at a regional ice-skating competition. At the competition, she is spotted by the US Olympic coach, who promotes her as an underdog competitor, and she skyrockets to fame. Her career is going great until she is blinded in a freak accident. Only with the help of those who love her can she prove to the world — and herself — that she still has the potential to realize her dreams.

Our dreams can become reality if we have love on our side.

Looking Through The Eyes Of Love
Melissa Manchester

Please, don’t let this feeling end
It’s everything I am, everything I want to be
I can see what’s mine now, finding out what’s true
Since I’ve found you, looking through the eyes of love.

Now, I can take the time
I can see my life as it comes up shining now
Reaching out to touch you, I can feel so much.
Since I’ve found you, looking through the eyes of love.

And now I do believe that even in a storm we’ll find some light
Knowing you’re beside me, I’m alright.

Please, don’t let this feeling end
It might not come again, and I want to remember
How it feels to touch you, how I feel so much
Since I’ve found you, looking through the eyes of love.

Ateneo drew first blood against UST in Game 1 of the Finals. It was a really thrilling game that showed heart and guts and Norman Black’s brilliance. With time down to one second, Coach Black called a play that caught the UST defense napping. Jai, Chris Tiu and JC acted as decoys to Doug Kramer who simply slid near the basket as the UST players scrambled to cover their men.

Simply brilliant.

It was actually sweet justice for Doug as he defended against Evangelista for that turn-around jumper that got UST the lead. This time, it was Evangelista who tried to cover Doug but got lost in that play. Game 2 naman sa Thursday. I hope I get tickets this time and watch it live. :-)

Go Ateneo!
