Upside Down
Some people do turn your whole world upside down. And inside out.
You’re caught in surprise.
Pleasant surprise. Scary surprise.
Because you do not know what the future will hold. Nothing could have prepared you for this.
Life, as you know it, will never be the same again.
You swim as if you’re swimming in darkness with no end in sight. But you swim on. And on. You don’t go back. Because you’re too far from the shore anyway. And the only way to reach land is to reach that other shore.
Upside down. And inside out.
Life, as you know it, will never be the same again.
You make a choice, not based on something SURE. (For is there anything sure in this world anyway?) But based on something you feel and cannot fully explain to people. Something that probably makes you look stupid. But something you believe in. Something you will fight for. Something you will die for. Something you’re willing to live with for the rest of your life.
Upside down. And inside out.
Some things in life are meant to be experienced first hand. No more theories. No more experiencing things second hand and through a looking glass. Some lessons are best learned the hard way. Because if it’s not experienced the hard way, it doesn’t become a lesson.
Upside down. And inside out.
Life, as we know it, is never the same again.
But that’s what makes life exciting. That it could never be the same again. Because of who we have become. Because of the hard choices we made. Because we were not afraid of the hard choices. Because we were not afraid to get hurt. Because we were not afraid to be surprised by life. Because we didn’t cut corners.
Because we were willing to turn our lives upside down. And inside out.
