Heath Ledger is Dead!

Another tragic end to one so young, and so full of poten­tial. I admire Heath for not “sell­ing out” like some of his con­tem­po­raries. He could have cashed out by being a heart­throb after his take on 10 Things I Hate About You, but he didn’t; instead, he made some care­ful choices, focus­ing on his act­ing, and the chal­lenge the role will bring, rather on the movie’s block­buster appeal per se.

He made the great­est gam­ble yet with Broke­back Moun­tain. He also did Casanova, and I’m Not There, which are more Indie fare than anything.

This gives me all the more rea­son to watch The Dark Knight, since this is Heath’s farewell per­for­mance. And from what I saw in the trailer, I think he did a hell of a job.
