Nuffnang is Now Here in Pinas!

If you look at my side bar, you may have noticed this nifty little logo that says: “This blog serves Nuffnang ads.

Well, the other day, I was passing by EDSA on the way to work when the video board along the highway showed a Nuffnang.Com.Ph ad. It said BLOGGERS OF THE WORLD UNITE or something like that, and I remember taking a mental note of the url, and going to the site when I arrived in the office.

Why did I sign up? It boils down to five things:

1) Nuffnang just sounded cool. It didn’t mean anything to me, but I remembered it! What does nuffnang mean anyway? Can anybody in the know please tell me?

2) It promised to be the first (SouthEast) Asian blog advertising community. I think it is about time there is an official blogger community around these parts. It was launched in February 2007 by Timothy Tiah Ewe Tiam and Cheo Ming Shen. Before coming to the Philippines, it established itself in Malaysia and Singapore. It is meant to be “an online platform that allows advertisers to serve graphic advertisements on thousands of blogs according to their target audience and budget.

While that sounds like a preferential option for advertisers, it makes perfect business sense since advertising helps people earn money. Besides, if you’re not here for the advertising, you can just decide not to put up the ads in your site. Besides…

3) It was supposed to have been established by bloggers for bloggers. The two guys–Timothy Tiah and Cheo Ming Shen—who started Nuffnang are bloggers themselves. They have business Partners who are bloggers, organize blogger outings and blog related events, and networking sessions. I hope the Philippine team brings that bloggers-for-bloggers vibe with them as they go along.

4) It pays in Philippine Pesos. That means I get the money in my own currency. That means I don’t get charged by the bank for the conversion and the bank transfer. That means I can get paid quick and easy.

5) Sign up was really easy. I just went to the website Nuffnang.Com.Ph and looked for the Register Here button. In 5 minutes, I was registered. In about 5 more minutes, I had my account activation form sent to my email.

So attention all bloggers, why don’t YOU sign up to Nuffnang.Com.Ph?
