This is one for the sports buff, the boxing fan, and/or the Manny Pacquiao diehard.
Pacland is the reader’s digest of everything about Manny Pacquiao on the internet. It is a collection of links to Manny Pacquiao articles—news about his training, articles about his coach Freddie Roach, commentaries on his fights, opinions about his being the present #1 Pound-for-Pound fighter in the world and even on his many adventures here in the philippines and around the world.
I wonder how they do it, but every day, a new set of articles from around the net are given links in the site. There are also some great finds in the site which might be a little hard to find: Manny Pacquiao’s fight record can be found there, special news features, and a very active forum on boxing in general and about Filipino fighters in particular.
I personally check this site every day specially as the Pacman’s fight with De la Hoya draws near. It gives me an insight into the phenomenon that is Pacquiao and I’m amazed at how so many fans (Filipinos mostly) worship him like he’s God, and so many others (Mexicans mostly) hate him like he’s the Devil. And that’s one thing I like about this site—it is not biased and pro-Pacquiao all the way. In fact it provides links to articles that may not be too positive about Pacquiao, and even to articles which are downright insulting to him. For Manny Pacquiao’s rabid fans though, these articles become a target for sometimes crazy and downright insulting defense of their idol. The latest controversy was an article by John Chavez and Ricardo Lois on Michael Marley’s Boxing Confidential site which was staunchly criticized by Filipino columnists Recah Trinidad and Ronnie Nathanielz. The fans also took it one step further by spamming Lois and Chavez with very insulting and below-the-belt comments.
For giving us a place on the net to find Manny Pacquiao articles, and for the unbiased treatment of articles, AngPeregrino Recommends Pacland this week.

This post is dedicated to my dad who is a huge Pacman fan and who never fails to watch Pacquiao’s fights. I hope to watch the Dela Hoya fight with him when he visits me here in Manila in December.
