Ang Peregrino Recommends 44: CharityFocus
Charity Focus

First of all, I think the taglines Helping Others Help Others and An Incubator of Compassionate Action are two of the most brilliant taglines for any website or blog.
But beyond the brilliant taglines is a brilliant site with a great concept.
CharityFocus is an experiment in the joy of giving. Their services enable inspired people to contribute in meaningful ways to the world. The hope is that together, people can “be the change we wish to see in the world.”
CharityFocus is completely volunteer run, and the services of its volunteers are absolutely free.
Too often, small nonprofit organizations (NPOs) find themselves on the far side of the digital divide, removed from the advantages that simple technology can lend to their missions. CharityFocus helps nonprofits develop web solutions that enhance their ability to serve their beneficiaries, reach out to potential donors and volunteers, and reach a broader audience with their messages and stories of service.
Since 1999, volunteers have been constructing websites for NPOs—absolutely free of charge. The volunteers give you the NPOs their time and talents. And the NPOs give the volunteers the opportunity to serve and the chance to learn about and become inspired by their work. Everybody wins!
CharityFocus was conceived by volunteers, was built by volunteers, and is run by volunteers — all for the benefit of volunteers. It aims to create service opportunities for those who are open to it and support people who are already serving.
Another great feature of CharityFocus is the series of newsletters you can subscribe to. At present, they have five newsletters: Daily Good are good news sent to your inbox every day, KarmaTube are inspiring short videos that everyone can participate in, HelpOthers.Org are about acts of anonymous kindness, Inner Net Weekly is a round up of uplifting media, and Conversations are interviews with everyday heroes and artists. You can subscribe to the newsletters by clicking this link: SUBSCRIBE.
For giving so much value to work that is given for free, for being an incubator for compassionate action, and for helping others help others, AngPeregrino Recommends CharityFocus this week.
