Ang Peregrino Recommends 46: Motivate Thyself

Motivate Thyself is the blog of Eric Hamm. When I first read it several weeks ago, I thought it was an “old” blog. I found out a week ago that it was just four months old and Eric had just posted his 100th article!
For a blog that young to have the success it has already enjoyed is simply phenomenal. I do not know how he did it, but I would like to know his secret and do it myself. Hehe
But I think that the real secret of his success lies in the topic of the blog itself. Motivate Thyself is about inspiration and self motivation, about life and the journeys that we all have to go through, and the need for us to all make the (hard) choices that will spell the difference between letting the world overtake us, or being the driver of our destiny.
As Eric would put it, “Freedom isn’t a right, it’s a choice! It is up to us to choose to free ourselves from our laziness, self-doubt and fear of the unknown.”
One of the more concrete ways this is done is by a movement called M2A or Motivate2ACTION.
I don’t want this to just be a place where you dream, I want this to be a site that you come to, expecting real changes in your life. I want to build a community that is not only interested in reaching THEIR goals, but in helping others do the same.
How does it work?
All you need to do is go to the current month (this can be done by clicking the banner on the right sidebar, going to M2A! Main and clicking on the desired month, or by going to the current month in the navigation bar that is a sub category of ‘Motivate2ACTION!’.) and click on the desired week. I’ve given each month a theme in which we will focus on throughout the month. The month is split into 4 weeks where we will go through a process to try and make positive changes in regard to the current topic.
What am I trying to accomplish?
My main goal with this idea is to help you, as well as myself, get off this roller coaster ride of progress. Let’s take a look at the whole ‘new years resolution’ thing for a moment. It’s basically a time where people set a goal to accomplish the things that they couldn’t accomplish the previous year. And after they fail to really follow through, they just make it the NEXT years resolution and so continues the cycle. I want us to always be looking for ways to improve our lives. I want January 1st to be just another day. Another day of making the most of what we have and striving for a better life.
For the great articles, the reminder that we are the real masters of our souls and the drivers of our lives, and for the invitation to continually find the energy to move on, despite everything, Ang Peregrino Recommends Motivate Thyself this week.
