In a world that is steadily visual and auditory, of ipods and podcasts, and videos and short attention spans and the seeming extinction of the paperbound book, YouTube Edu is a compromise– you still learn and get educated, while listening and watching the great speeches and lectures of the great teachers, professors, and accomplished experts in the world. It is like the Readers Digest of educational videos; like TEDTalks, only more college professors and commencement speakers.
It is a YouTube channel that lists down videos from Universities and Colleges around the world. It has the channels of Arizona State U, MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Harvard Business, Tulane, UCLA, Stanford, Berkeley, Brandeis, Dartmouth, Duke, Yale, among others.
There are great finds there, like President Obama’s speech at Arizona State, or Desmond Tutu’s Commencement Speech at UNC Chapel Hill, or this dramatic short film about changing your outlook in life.
Check out the videos yourself and you will probably learn a thing or two about life in general or something relevant in particular.
For being a one-stop shop for videos from the best educational institutions around the world, and for helping education become available to the rest of the world, Ang Peregrino Recommends YouTube Edu this week.
