Charice Pempengco!

[9 Mar 2008 | 0 Comments | ]

This is something I’ve heard about over the past few weeks and I tried to catch her on Ellen but didn’t really get the chance to see her. I finally got to watch her on YouTube.
This is a good way to start the year–with good news and on a positive note. Cheers to Charisse and all those who may not have won the contests they join but don’t lose heart. In the end, there’s nothing wrong with not finishing first. Just keep walking!

Marie Digby — Bring Me Love

[22 Jan 2008 | 0 Comments | ]

This is an original song by the up-and-coming Marie Digby. It’s supposed to be a song meant for the holidays, but just humor me with this. This is a less angsty and more hip version of My Grown-Up Christmas List. This is weird, but I can imagine listening to this while driving all the way to Baguio. :-)
For those of you who have trouble with streaming videos, here’s a streaming audio version from Aimini.

[14 Jan 2008 | 0 Comments | ]

I didn’t know Spelling Bee’s could be so exciting. Around two weeks ago, the 2007 Scripps National Spelling Bee was shown on ESPN and I was glued to the TV set with my dad.

The winner is Evan O’Dorney who lists Spelling as a distant third in the things he loves after Music and Math. A Fil-American named Joseph Henares tied for third and provided a bit of humor and fresh air in an otherwise serious competition. When he was given his word: “punaise”, he exclaimed “Oh, my God!” to …

Philippine Alexa Ratings Top 10

[11 Jan 2008 | 0 Comments | ]

Alexa Internet was founded in 1996 by Brewster Kahle and Bruce Gilliat. The company offered a toolbar that gave Internet users guidance on where to go next, based on the traffic patterns of its user community. Alexa also offered context for each site visited: to whom it was registered, how many pages it had, how many other sites pointed to it, and how frequently it was updated. In 1999, Alexa was acquired by Amazon.com for about $250 million in Amazon stock.
