Ang Peregrino Recommends 60: Church Simplified
I first heard about them when my officemates gave me rave reviews about their experience of a different kind of Station of the Cross in Bonifacio Highstreet (see video below). I eventually became a facebook fan, and as with many things facebook, the rest is history (hehe). I found myself resonating with many things they espouse, and while I cannot talk about their philosophy and theology at length since I have not joined any of their services myself, I think the concept of a Church that is simple, open to very creative ideas, and one that does not proselytize, is a real breath of fresh air, and something that appeals to me.

The Ten Most Memorable Commercials on Philippine TV
I am featuring what I think are the 10 Most Memorable Commercials to ever grace Philippine TV. The choices are based on research (other people’s votes and blog posts of a similar topic) and my own recall of the commercials that I still remember years after I first saw them on TV. There are other commercials worthy of note: Palmolive’s I CAN FEEL IT that brought a young Alice Dixson to stardom, The Purefoods TJ Hotdogs GOODBYE CARLO, the funny TIDE IS TIDE, the series of commercials about Lumen and her family in Surf, Lucky Me with Luis and Edu Manzano, San Miguel Beer with Fernando Poe Jr, the KFC commercial that had a guy “come out” to his friends, and more recently, the Colt 45 Series on men acting like real men. But these ten, to me, stand out.

Lupang Hinirang
This rendition of Lupang Hinirang is intended for reflection. It is not meant to replace the official anthem normally played as a march.
Recently a talented and nationally known film director, Mae Paner, crafted a new and moving version of our national anthem. This unusual audio visual presentation of “Lupang Hinirang”* has been shown many times in various events and has consistently touched the hearts and minds of viewers to the point of tears of awakening and gratefulness.
