Manny Pacquiao: Pound for Pound!

[5 May 2009 | 0 Comments | ]

We’ve seen The Fight that made the world stand up and watch. Manny Pacquiao has silenced doubters with a scary annihilation of Ricky Hatton inside Two Lopsided Rounds that made the Eight Lopsided Rounds last December against Dela Hoya no longer a fluke (if it ever was considered one).

Ang Peregrino Recommends 60: Church Simplified

[4 May 2009 | 0 Comments | ]
60: Church Simplified">

I first heard about them when my officemates gave me rave reviews about their experience of a different kind of Station of the Cross in Bonifacio Highstreet (see video below). I eventually became a facebook fan, and as with many things facebook, the rest is history (hehe). There are other commercials worthy of note: Palmolive’s I CAN FEEL IT that brought a young Alice Dixson to stardom, The Purefoods TJ Hotdogs GOODBYE CARLO, the funny TIDE IS TIDE, the series of commercials about Lumen and her family in Surf, Lucky Me with Luis and Edu Manzano, San Miguel Beer with Fernando Poe Jr, the KFC commercial that had a guy “come out” to his friends, and more recently, the Colt 45 Series on men acting like real men. But these ten, to me, stand out.

Lupang Hinirang

[11 Mar 2009 | 0 Comments | ]

This rendition of Lupang Hinirang is intended for reflection. It is not meant to replace the official anthem normally played as a march.

Recently a talented and nationally known film director, Mae Paner, crafted a new and moving version of our national anthem. This unusual audio visual presentation of “Lupang Hinirang”* has been shown many times in various events and has consistently touched the hearts and minds of viewers to the point of tears of awakening and gratefulness.
