My First Sony Experience Was With Something I Was Never Able to Buy

[27 Nov 2008 | 0 Comments | ]

I was in Grade School when I asked my parents for the uber cool Sony Walkman. I wanted to buy it partly because my classmates had it, and my friends used it when they were out with me. I also wanted it because ever since I was young I loved to listen to music; and what could be cooler than being able to carry music around and listening to it whenever I wanted to? Even before people started calling something COOL, I knew the Sony Walkman was… something I had to have.

My mom told me that my Ninang/Godmother will give me the Sony Walkman. And it’ll be so much better than what my friends had because it’ll come from the States. (It was a time when being “imported” automatically meant better). And so I waited with bated breath for that imported Sony Walkman that was to come “from the States”.

I Am Ninoy

[5 Aug 2008 | 0 Comments | ]

This is a plug about an activity called IAmNinoy.

This August 21, we remember a Filipino who laid down his life for his nation, one who dedicated a life of service and sacrifice for his fellow countrymen: Ninoy Aquino. And in remembrance of his heroism, the Ninoy Aquino Foundation and the Ayala Young Leaders Alliance recognize the ability of the youth to be heroes in their respective fields. With this inspiration, 100 youth individuals from different backgrounds and sectors of society will given an opportunity to relive Ninoy Aquino’s heroism through a congress entitled, “iamninoy:‘Connecting Young Filipino Leaders’” on August 2224 at The Aquino Museum, Tarlac City.

Public Service Announcement: Donate to Payatas

[25 Feb 2008 | 0 Comments | ]

My friend, Bro. Ogie Cabayao, SJ, has asked if I could “advertise” this in my blog. Ogie has an apostolate in Payatas and he’s organizing a children’s choir. They need a guitar for their choir.
So if you have an extra guitar at home, or if you have the cash to spend it on, please donate to Bro. Ogie. You can leave him a message here.

If you’re like me and you have a lot of free time in your hands (well, this is only until I start with my new job at least–but I do have a lot of free time in my hands now), then maybe you would like to check this thing out. I have joined AW Surveys. They pay you to answer surveys. Well, what they do is ask you to click on websites and then you’re supposed to evaluate the websites.
