Great things start from small beginnings.

We’ve heard this said over and over to us. A seed grows and becomes a tree. The jour­ney of a thou­sand miles begins with a sin­gle step. Great­ness starts quite innocu­ously and with­out fan­fare. Even a King can be born in a manger.

We cel­e­brate today the anniver­sary of one of the proud­est moments of the Fil­ipino: a rev­o­lu­tion that ousted a dic­ta­tor. It has been known the world over as “the rev­o­lu­tion that sur­prised the world” because it was done peacefully.

There have been major changes since that time, but years later, we’re still look­ing for that leader who will bring some hope to the cri­sis of lead­er­ship we are expe­ri­enc­ing as a nation. Maybe we could learn some­thing about lead­er­ship from the man who saved the day for 154 peo­ple who were about to crash. Tell me what you think in the com­ments below.

The need for cre­ativ­ity is chang­ing how the work­place is orga­nized and what peo­ple do. These changes cen­ter on the use and inter­pre­ta­tion of infor­ma­tion: the basis for ideas. A company’s future depends upon how well it acquires, inter­prets, and acts upon infor­ma­tion. Today the spread of infor­ma­tion technologies—including com­put­ers and data bases—is bring­ing about a sea of change in the busi­ness world.
