Sinead O’Connor’s one of the most brilliant artists when I was growing up. She’s the Lady Gaga of my generation–pure brilliant genius minus the crazy stunts.
Nothing Compares To You has been called by VH1 as one of the Top 100 Songs of 90’s, for good reason. It’s one of the best made songs lyrically and musically. It’s music is haunting, almost pained, and you could feel the passion behind the lyrics. It talks of an experience we’re all familiar with–the painful memory of goodbye, the love that could have been perfect, and the tragedy of the one that got away.
