The Blower’s Daughter
I have this new Damien Rice semi-obsession. I first heard this song in the L Word, which is an officemate’s favorite sitcom. When I was looking for the song, that’s when I found out that it was part of the soundtrack for the movie CLOSER.
CLOSER deserves another set of discussion altogether.
But for now, I’d like to set my sights on the song. This is very soulful and angst-filled and I can just imagine listening to this song while drinking a bottle of beer in a dark room with red lights. …

Yellow
I’ve always loved Coldplay. Started listening to them around college time. And this was the first song that made me sit up and notice. I remember that when I first heard it, I thought they sounded like Radiohead and/or Counting Crows. And then they really started making their own brand of music. “Shiver” and “Trouble” came along and of course, “In My Place” became some sort of anthem for me (will blog about it next time).
