Some of my friends were complaining what Heidi Klum could have seen in Seal to marry the guy (and I heard they have a happy marriage!). I told them to just listen to the guy. If a guy sings like that to a woman, I think any (sane) woman would marry him too.
Here’s Heidi and Seal singing in the last Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. I heard that Heidi Klum really sang (back in her native Germany she recorded a Christmas album!). That’s like Manny Pacquiao recording an album or Paris …

This is from the Finals of Britain’s Got Talent. Paul Potts may have won the competition, but Connie’s performance is worthy of note as well; if only for the fact that she sang so purely and perfectly for a six year old. Enjoy the voice of an angel!

It’s always difficult to say goodbye. Sometimes, you just hold on because you’re afraid of being alone and being lonely. Sometimes you hold on because you’re afraid of the “other side”–the one without anyone there. But then, there are times when it is probably time to say goodbye. Probably because too much pain has been given and too much hurt has been felt. And things that have been said cannot be taken back.
I think the difficulty is when people do not realize that they have also done their share in …

This is an original song by the up-and-coming Marie Digby. It’s supposed to be a song meant for the holidays, but just humor me with this. This is a less angsty and more hip version of My Grown-Up Christmas List. This is weird, but I can imagine listening to this while driving all the way to Baguio. :-)
For those of you who have trouble with streaming videos, here’s a streaming audio version from Aimini.

Seal recorded this song for his second album, and it was later used as music for the end credits of the Batman Forever movie, which helped make it a huge hit. It won Grammy Awards in 1996 for Record of the Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance.
The song for me is really about finding hope in the most unlikely places. I know it’s cliche-ic and even sounds trite, but hope is hope precisely because it is something you hold on to despite everything. It is an …

I know. I know. I watched the movie. And laughed and cried (not!) with the story.
And sang the song to lull myself to sleep.
Beautiful song. :-)

I’ll Never GoPerformed by Erik Santos
You always ask meThose words i sayAnd telling me what it means to me

Here’s Marie Digby again. She’s singing One of Us. The song has been a long time favorite of mine; and I love this version by Marie.
This is one of the things I asked my students one time. What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us?
Would we notice him? Would we look at him differently? Would we even care?

I fell in love with this song the moment I heard it. And when we had lunch with Gary V several months ago and he mentioned that this was one of his favorite songs as well, I fell in love with it again. I don’t know if he got to do his own version in an album though.
The song is really about trust. And about a love that is so much greater than we could ever imagine.
When I look back at my own life, I realize that the …

Several years ago when I was still based at the Ateneo, a friend of mine kept singing this song to me. I don’t know why. She probably liked me. hahaha. But i do like the song, if only because it speaks of a seemingly unrequited love that is willing to wait and is willing to question the set rules and is willing to fight for love.
There are typical love stories–the ones written about in books and shown in movies. The ones where life is a struggle but we …

I actually first heard this song when a front desk associate of our company sang it early morning Thursday. She got the guard’s radio, pressed the call button and serenaded the guards. She sang it so well that I just had to ask her the title of the song.
I learned it was sung by Rihanna, although Cris Brown did his own version (changing the chorus from “You can stand under my umbrella” to “You can be my Cinderella.”) and Mandy Moore also recorded her own version which was eventually …
