Uncluttering is one of the best things that have ever happened in my life. I’ve been trying to unclutter my life the past year and the results have been steadily improving the other parts of my life as well.
I am a fight fan. I watch boxing a lot. One of my earliest memories was my father bringing me to our boxing “coliseum” (I think it was really a cockpit that was converted into a boxing venue with the strapping of a ring) when I was 4 or 5 years old. It was fight night (and way past my bedtime). I don’t remember the fight, who the fighters were, or who won. But there was the unmistakable feel of excitement among the crowd as they cheered the boxers on. I also watched Mike Tyson kick the living hell out of Spinks’ ass in a little under 90 seconds in one of the few restaurants that had satellite tv in our place back in the day.
I’ve had the privilege (and the good fortune) of having good superiors (we call them leaders of ours “superiors” when I was a Jesuit) and managers over the past years (except for the bad egg or two here and there). So I never really had problems with my bosses. But I know many other people who have. And I’ve encountered some in my dealings with different companies all over the Philippines.
Here is something that executives, managers, or leaders in general should read. You may already be falling into the trap of complacency and you probably have thought these out in your head or said out loud. Check yourself. Is this something you would say?
Saw this in one of the seminar/training rooms of one of my clients. Gives us an idea what Human Resources practitioners have to put up with everyday…
